Gateway to European Rail Infrastructure
RailNetEurope - an association of European railway infrastructure managers
RailNetEurope (RNE) was founded in January 2004 on the initiative of a number of European railway infrastructure managers and allocation bodies with the aim of implementing a common, pan-European organisation and jointly addressing the challenges of the rapidly changing railway sector in Europe. RNE's mission is to facilitate the operational international business of its members, to promote cross-border rail transport for both passengers and freight, and to provide assistance in complying with the European regulatory framework. The latter includes the development of harmonised international business processes, templates, manuals and guidelines.
As an umbrella organisation, most of RNE's work is done in permanent working groups and project teams. In addition, RNE cooperates with other European/international bodies to build consensus on issues of common interest.
DB Netz AG, as a founding member of RNE, therefore strives to simplify access for internationally operating rail transport companies by providing transparent information and harmonised processes.
